What is a home check in?

Insurance company requirements? Extended travel? Perhaps you do not want a house sitter living in your home or have the need for a full time property manager. A professional scheduled trip from a licensed property manager may satisfy your home insurance requirements while you are away. Please see what services are included below.

All inspection options come with a digital report and photos taken at the time of the inspection that will be emailed to the owners

Insurance Service Option #1 - Exterior Drive-By Service

 

Check Front/Back yard are being well maintained

Confirm tenants are cutting the grass or shovelling the snow

Check no broken down vehicles or debris are kept on site

Check for leaks from the gutters/downspouts or outside water spouts from a ground level

Confirm responsible pet ownership (proper yard clean up)

Check no obvious outside repairs are needed and tenants are maintaining the property in responsible manner

Any other requirements your insurance company may need on inspection can be discussed

Insurance Service Option #2 - Interior Service

 

Communication with tenants to arrange entrance

Providing 24hr notice to arrange appropriate time and date of entry (key copies are recommended)

Check each room in unit for general cleanliness

Check under each sink for any visible and obvious leaks or mold growth

Check window seals to confirm no visible and obvious leaks, mold growth, cracks or water pooling

Check for visible signs of pests such a defecation, holes or pests themselves (ants, rodents, cockroaches etc)

Check for any obvious repairs needed or preventative measures for potential damages

Any other requirements your insurance company may need on inspection can be discussed

Vacation Service - Interior and Exterior Service

 

Check for any water leaks (drains/faucets/fixtures)

Check windows and doors for signs of entry

Check for any power surges

Contact appropriate services/authorities in case of emergency on site at inspection time

Walk around the property to check for garbage/debris

Check irrigation systems or timers are in working order

Temperature control of the home

Empty the mailbox

Remove any delivery notices or safely storing delivered packages

Water the house plants

General presence in the home (car in the driveway/turn lights on and off)
